The New Gulfstream G700 May Be The Largest Private aircraft In The World

The two biggest names in the private aviation world have been battling it out for supremacy in the skies. In 2018, the Bombardier Gobal 7500 became the biggest business jet in the world, kicking the Gulfstream G650 from its throne. The Global 7500 broke many records and was appreciated by both pilots and passengers. However, Gulfstream wasted no time in their attempts to take back that number one spot. Today, we get to see the first images of the latest aircraft from the Georgia-based plane manufacturer.

Once released to the public for purchase, the Gulfstream G700 will become the largest private business jet in the sky. Unveiled at the National Business Associations corporate aircraft show in LasVegas. Gulfstream President Mark Burns said the G700 would be priced at $75 million. This makes the jet the tallest and widest cabin in the executive jet market.

Powered by two large Rolls-Royce Pearl 700 engines, the gigantic jet will match the market-leading max speed of Mach 0.925, which was set by Gulfstream’s last jet, the G650. The latest aircraft can fly 7,500 nautical miles at Mach 0.85, which is only slightly less than Bombardiers 7,700 nautical miles. This difference of 200 miles is insignificant when traveling long distances.

Inside the jet, 19 passengers can be comfortably seated, with five living areas, a 6-seat dining area (also a confrence room), a 10-foot galley and even a master bedroom suite and shower. The jet also boasts the most advanced lighting system that simulates sunrise and sunset, with the intention of reducing jet lag. The jet will also be pressurized so the lowest cabin altitude in the industry. The cabin is incredibly quiet, with the largest oval windows ever seen on any business jet. Arguably the most impressive feature, 100 percent of the air in the jet is fresh.

According to Gulfstream president Mark Burns, ““The Gulfstream G700 takes the very best elements from our most innovative products and unites them with cutting-edge advances to create an all-new, advanced-technology aircraft that redefines safety, comfort and range at speed.”

Gulfstream will begin deliveries in 2022, with the company already receiving 10 orders from Qatar Airways as these jets will be used as part of Qatar’s Executive charter service. Flexjet has also ordered an unspecific number of G700 jets.
